HART offers fully accessible curb to curb Aparatransit service which
provides local rides for individuals with disabilities and senior citizen residents who
cannot use regular bus service or cannot provide their own transportation. HART's program is
operated in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). While this is a highly
individualized service, it is a form of public transportation and trips may be combined with others.

Serving New York City, Nassau and Suffolk - 8 to 65 years old - Physically challenged
wheelchair users.
Brooklyn Long Island Wheelchair Athletic Club provides sports and recreation programs,
both competitive and recreational for children and adults born with disabilities, as well as
children and adults who are wheelchair users due to injuries. Activities, such as wheelchair
basketball, racing, and hand cycling are offered. The Club also supplies racing wheelchairs,
basketball wheelchairs, and hand cycles for the use of anybody who needs to use them and
some travel expenses and entry fees, as well as coaching and training in the above activities.
