The agency provides weekend programs for children and adults with
disabilities. Participants attend events in the community and trips to such places as
Madison Square Garden. Case management and referral services are provided.

Sports club serving all of New York, 6 - 21+ - boys and girls with physical and
mental disabilities and able bodied.
A.I.S. is open to boys and girls, ages 6 to 21+ with mental and/or
physical disabilities and able body siblings. Eight week programs run all year long. Twenty
dollar registration fee includes insurance, uniform jersey and shorts. Athletes earn Varsity and
Jr.Varsity letters to put on their varsity jackets. A.I.S. has won international competitions in
Canadian, American Sled Hockey. Members have made the USA Paraolympic teams as well as being
New York State Champions 1993-1994-1995-1996-1997-1998. Team trips, award dinner and lots more are available.

The Friendship Connection is a non-profit, non-sectarian group created with
an eye toward creating opportunities for people with learning disabilities to
socialize. Weekly meetings provide a challenging, yet nurturing environment led by professional staff. The goal is to meet the social needs of its members and to provide them with productive social opportunities to enrich their lives. |

Provides horseback riding instruction to individuals with emotional, cognitive, or physical disabilities in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan.
Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is a not-for-profit organization devoted to teaching
recreational, competitive and therapeutic horseback riding to individuals
with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities. We are staffed with
special education teachers, certified riding instructors, physical
therapists and 60 volunteers. Lessons are given 12 months a year, seven
days a week.

Health and physical fitness center serving New York area - Six months to adult: Programs are designed to accommodate all populations.
Services range from children and adult swim lessons to water therapy classes. A 30-60 minute class (depending on
type) is arranged according to individual schedule, pool space and instructor's availability.
Adults over the age of 16 also may utilize our whirlpool to relax and /or continue therapy.

Part of an international program organized by the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.
Foundation providing year-round sports training and competition for children and adults
with mental retardation. Over twenty Olympic type sports are offered,
including golf, equestrian, track and field, aquatics, bowling, soccer,
basketball and softball. |
