Among its many features, this website serves two specific benefits that will prove invaluable to parents. The first is a confidential section that allows parents to view, through use of their own private password, their child's day-to-day progress in the PCTP program. Secondly, parents will be able to dialogue with other parents without leaving their homes, on issues of concern, the program in general and new information they have learned that could benefit other students in the program.
The mission of the Persons Center Project is to engage students with developmental disabilities in a person centered transition plan. The process will help students make appropriate choices pertinent to living, learning and working in the community. This site will provide opportunities for families of students to interact regarding common issues and research community resources.
Parents are an integral and unparalleled part of the communities within which students in the PCTP project operate. Home-based experiences and the knowledge parents accrue regarding their children's learning patterns, social and behavioral habits and medical history are key to the successful implementation of this program.
Interaction and dialogue among parents of PCTP students is a welcomed ingredient in the person centered process. This page contains resources that will be updated from time to time with links to other websites that can provide helpful information.
